I
have been teaching at Case since 1989. I am the Director of Undergraduate
Theater Studies in the Department of Theater and Dance and a Master
Teacher in the MFA Professional Actor Training Program that is
run in conjunction with the Cleveland Play House. I have received
many awards for my teaching but the two I treasure most are the
Carl Wittke Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, which
I received in 1995 and the John S. Diekhoff Award for Distinguished
Graduate Teaching, which I received in 2002. Teaching has made
me a better actor and acting has certainly made me a better teacher.
I teach audition
lab, on-camera acting, advanced acting, and sometimes begining
acting on the undergraduate level, and graduate acting, audition
lab and business of the business in the professional training
program. In the Fall of 2005 I directed a workshop production
of "Uncommon Women and Others" at Case. I teach Michael
Chekhov Technique in all my acting classes and am the first to
be certified as a teacher of the Technique by the International
Michael Chekhov Association. For more on my Chekhov teaching visit

I am also a designated Service Learning
Fellow of the University and am working towards creating a curriculum
to use students in Theater as a way of reaching out to a larger
community.
